Laser Tattoo Removal

The laser we use for the treatment is the Palomar Q-Yag 5. This laser system effectively treats all colors.

Removal depends on numerous factors, such as the type of ink used, color of ink, depth of ink, age of tattoo, and location on the body. It will generally take 4 to 8 treatments over the course of one year. Treatments last 10-15 minutes and feel similar to getting the tattoo. The laser emits a quick pulsating beam of light which passes harmlessly through the skin. Upon contact with the ink, the laser explodes the large ink particle which results in a chemical reaction. Then the body’s lymphatic system begins to carry away these smaller ink particles. The use of a specific combination of wavelengths and rapidly pulsed light will result in minimal damage to the skin while providing maximum tattoo ink removal.
